TRUST in the PROCESS
I vividly remember sitting at my desk in 2014 working in natural health, whist studying to become a mindfulness practitioner and reading the words by Elsie De Wolfe:
" ... I’m going to make everything around me beautiful - that will be my life ... "
and thinking that is exactly where all of my parts will come together. Sometimes I feel 'guilty' calling this my work... but reminded daily that
We make our fortunes and call them fate.
I worked hard in my early 20's following just my heart, to do what I love now, as I move into my early 30's.
You have to trust in the process.
I've had so many young women speak up this week. Lost, stressed, unhappy and desperately seeking to just love themselves and who they are.
Stress and tension arise from a lack of connection with our authentic self.
You have to dig deep. Go within. Listen! And you have to trust in the process. Remind yourself that life is a process. There are going to be hard days, tough days... maybe months. But it's with those that come the sunny days.
Its a journey.
Here's a small piece of mine. A glimmer that not every day is sunny. And that finding what lights us up, who we are is too, a process.
Multiple career changes (all just slightly different in nature), further study and an entrepreneurial thirst for young people and the heart. What began as a career as a Secondary school teacher, 3 years in the toughest school in Victoria, transformed my passion and skill set from Physical & Health Education, to mental health awareness and wellness. And burn out. After relocating to Melbourne for love there was a 2 year stint in Education Recruitment; fast paced, exhilarating and one that led to further burn out (my heart still unsure and with young people), but one I look back now with the fondest memories for the lessons it taught me and the direct shove I needed into meditation & mindfulness at a desperate measure and something that up until now I'd only dabbled in.
This was followed simultaneously with a career in natural health that I fell into. Employed and working alongside a very talented wellness practitioner (as both employee and patient) when seeking natural alternatives to soften that burn out. It was while working here that I really opened myself up, developed a mindset of living a life of least resistance (why resist !? ) and did a lot of the tough hard personal work that’s needed to discover who you really are ... aside from a heart and soul in a physical body that's just moving and conforming and what makes your heart sing. I went back to study, evolved my passion in wellness and opened doors to EUNOIA.
Where now, EVERYDAY I get to share and connect with young people to remind them that the most powerful tool they have is themselves, their mind, their heart (and their health!). All of these parts, all of their journey unfolding and coming together. Trust in the process and you WILL never work a day in your life, YOU will enjoy life and your everyday where you can be grateful for this life, and the journey unfolding for you.
